Hero.
What is a hero?
“A person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” That’s the definition, anyway, but some words mean more than just their definition.
I’d say that authors are heroes. I mean, they may not wear capes or save people from fires, but they’re heroes in their own way. A hero, as I see it, is just someone who helps someone else in some important way. Books provide somewhere to go, a place to rest, to relax, to grow stronger. They can give you a home, a community.
Anyone can be a hero. And for a long time, you were one. You helped so many people, gave them so much strength. These books mean so much to so many people. While only a bit of a hero to me, you were a massive hero to my mom, and to a lot of the people that I care about.
But the past tense is important here.
Because you were. You helped so many people, gave them the strength that they needed to be themselves. Do you know how important these books are for people?
And now you want to take them away. You want to spoil them, ruin them with your hate.
But you don’t get to do that. You don’t get to make something so important and then take it away. You don’t. You don’t get to do that to us. A community is more than it’s creator.
You say you don’t hate us. You say that you support us, and yet everything you do says otherwise. You’re spreading so much toxicity that it’s hard to breathe. We keep hoping you’re going to be better, I keep hoping you're going to be better, and yet you never are.
It was easier to look the other way. To hear things, but excuse them as not a big deal. But we can’t anymore.
You just keep pushing the blade down deeper, making the wound larger and larger, more and more painful. Why won’t you just listen?
You say you don’t hate us. That you support us. And yet you do this. You never learn, you never apologize. You use one of the most negative stereotypes of all time, one that is a complete lie, and you say you still care?
Stop lying to us. We know you don’t, we know you’re lying. So can you just shut up?
We’re telling you that you’re in the wrong, but instead of listening, you say you’re not.
We keep thinking that if it can't get worse, that you can’t say or do anything more awful, and yet here we are. At a new low. Do you even care? I really don’t think you do.
You’re not just sharing your “opinions” anymore. You’re causing real damage. You’re going to cause people to get hurt, to get killed because you won’t stop being a baby and just listen to us.
If you’re going to keep spreading your hate, at least stop trying to lie about it. You do hate us. If you didn’t, you would listen, realize your mistake, and work to fix it. But you don’t, you never you.
So we’re gonna move on. Without you. We’re ready to learn, to grow. I’d be lying if I said that you’re not going to be missed. But you the way you are right now isn’t who we miss.
A long-awaited wizard rock album from a pioneer of the wrock community. Mostly wrock, but there are some other nerdy songs thrown in, though they don't disrupt the cohesion. Lauren is always awesome, and if you liked her previous music, you will enjoy this fuller sound even more. yourwizardrockresource
